HKCC: Multiple Phishing Websites Are Using Virtual Wallets to Carry Out Fraud
Svmuu News: The Hong Kong Interbank Clearing Limited issued an announcement stating that, it has recently discovered multiple fake websites operating under the guise of “Buyer Online Security Protection” that trick users into submitting personal information—such as ID numbers, photos of ID cards, and phone numbers—for so-called “real-name verification.” These sites use cash rewards as bait to entice users to make deposits and withdrawals through so-called virtual wallets. The Hong Kong Interbank Clearing Limited urges the public to be wary of suspicious phone calls, websites, or other communications. If you suspect you have been scammed, you should report it to the police as soon as possible.
