Svmuu News: U.S. Central Command issued a statement saying that on July 12, local time, CENTCOM carried out a new round of offensive strikes against Iran, using precision-guided weapons to destroy dozens of targets at multiple locations, with the aim of undermining Iran’s ability to continue attacking international shipping transiting the Strait of Hormuz.
U.S. Central Command deployed fighter jets, naval vessels, attack drones, and—for the first time in combat—attack unmanned surface vehicles to strike Iran’s military air defense systems, coastal radar stations, missile and drone capabilities, and small vessels. The Strait of Hormuz is a vital maritime corridor for global trade, and Iran does not control it. Despite Iran’s continued unwarranted “aggression,” harassment, threats, and arbitrary statements, U.S. forces are fully deployed and prepared to ensure that commercial vessels continue to enjoy freedom of navigation.
