The EU plans to expand the scope of MiCA regulation to cover tokenization and non-EU stablecoin issuers
Svmuu News: The European Union is considering revising the Market in Crypto-Assets Regulation (MiCA), and the European Commission is seeking feedback from stakeholders, with a deadline of September 30. According to several anonymous sources familiar with the matter, the European Commission is evaluating whether to expand MiCA’s regulatory scope to cover emerging areas such as tokenization and non-EU stablecoin issuers. MiCA officially took effect in December 2024, and most service providers were granted a transition period to complete compliance adjustments, which runs through July 1 of this year. (The Block)
